Auxiliary

We are no longer accepting applications for positions within the Auxiliary Unit. The Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service is in the process of reveiwing all the applications received and begining interviews. Thank you to everyone who attended the open house and or sent in an application. To be eligible for consideration, the applicant must: - Be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada
- Be between 18 and 65 years of age
- Be og good moral character and habits
- Not to have been convicted of a criminal offence for which a pardon has not been granted
- Have obtained an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
- Posses a valid Ontario Drivers Licence
- Meet the vision standards which include, colour, peripheral and depth perception requirments with minimum visual acuity of 20/40 correctable to 20/20
- Be able to provide a certification on demand from a licenced medical practitioner outlining the ability to perform the duties of an auxiliary officer
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
- Perference will be given to applicants who are established in the community area
Successful candidates must commit for a two year period and are expected to volunteer for a minimum of twelve hours per month.
Assigned duties for auxiliary officers will include accompanying patrol officers, community presentations, and traffic control at parades and special events. |
