Police Board Meetings
On Monday July 6th at 10:00 a.m., the Peterborough Lakefield Police Services Board will be having a closed, in-camera meeting.

On Tuesday July 7th at 9:00 a.m., the Peterborough Lakefield Police Services Board will be having a closed, in-camera meeting, followed by a public meeting at 10:30 in the Hugh Waddell Boardroom at the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Headquarters.
 
Break & Enter - Rubidge Street
Sometime between 10:00 pm on the 30th June and 7:00 am on the 1st of July suspect(s) entered a Rubidge Street residence through a door. The suspect(s) stole the complainant’s purse and exited the residence. Police attended the scene and located some of the victim’s property in the area. The victim is still missing a digital camera valued at $200.00.

Arrest On Warrant
On the 2nd of July at 7:00 am the accused Elton Trube, age 29, of no fixed address turned himself into police. Police held two warrants for Trube’s arrest for theft under $5000.00 and fail to appear. Trube was held in custody and appeared in Provincial Court on the 2nd of July.
 
Break & Enter - Lansdowne Street West
During the afternoon hours of the 2nd of July unknown suspect(s) entered a Lansdowne Street West apartment through a bedroom window located on the east side of the building. Suspect(s) stole unknown quantity of jewellery, cash, and laptop computer. The estimated total value of the theft is $1000.00. There was no damage.

Possession Of Prohibited Weapon
The accused age 19 years lives on Dutton Road with other family members. On the 30th of June the accused became involved in a verbal argument with another family member. The police were called and the accused agreed to leave in order to avoid any further problems.

A short time later at 12:30 am on the 30th June the accused returned back to the Dutton Road residence. He began banging on the front door and demanded to speak with the residents inside. He was asked to leave several times but refused. The accused proceeded to a vehicle parked in the driveway and jumped on the hood. He began to bounce up and down.

The police were called and attended the residence. The accused left the area prior to police arrival. Police checked the vehicle and observed four dents to the hood, as well as a number of scratches. Total amount of damage is believed to be $4000. The accused was located the following afternoon and was arrested for mischief under $5000.

During the search police located a prohibited knife in his pocket. The accused is facing an additional charge of possession of a prohibited weapon. He was held in custody and appeared in court on the 1st July. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the persons involved.
 
Arrest On Warrant
On the 23rd of November 2005 a warrant was issued for the accused for breach of probation.

On the 2nd of July 2009 at 2:00 am, the Peterborough County OPP stopped a vehicle in Indian River. The accused was a passenger. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and turned over to the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police.

Jason Taylor, age 29, of no fixed address is facing one charge of breach of probation. He was held in custody and will appear in court on the 2nd of July.
 
Escape From Custody Arrest
On the 27th of June at 10:15 pm, police attended the Tim Horton’s, located at 157 George Street North regarding an unwanted person. The accused was asked several times to leave the property but refused. He was placed under arrest and in the process of being escorted towards the police cruiser the accused broke free and ran across George Street.

He was last seen running towards Dalhousie Street. Through an investigation police were able to identify the accused. On the 2nd July the accused turned himself into police.

Malcolm Chambers, age 19, of Stewart Street has been charged with escape lawful custody. He has been released and will appear in court on the 23rd of July.
 
Neighbour Dispute Leads to Arrest
On June 30th at approximately 9:00 pm, police received a call from a Parkihill Road East resident regarding a neighbour dispute. Police arrived on scene and spoke to the neighbours.

After an investigation, Shelley Zieglar, age 41, of Parkhill Road East was arrested for failing to comply with an undertaking. Ziegler is presently on a condition not to consume alcohol stemming from an assault charge earlier in June. Ziegler was held in custody to appear in court on July 1st.
 
Dangerous Driving
On the 29th June at approximately 4:20 pm, police observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Albert and Park Street. In the process of attempting to stop the vehicle it accelerated in an easterly direction. Police pursued the vehicle at a high rate of speed in the area of Chamberlain and Alfred Street. The vehicle sped through a residential neighborhood for a short period of time before it pulled over for police on Albert Street near Lafayette.

The driver identified himself as Wayne Douglas Lane, age 26, of London Street. Lane was arrested and charged with Dangerous Driving and Flight From A Peace Officer. At the time of Lane’s arrest he was on a Conditional Sentence Order. The order included house arrest. Lane was held in custody and will appear in court on the 30th June.
 
Robbery
On the 30th of June at approximately 3:20 am, a male armed with a hammer entered the Mac’s Milk Store located on Sherbrooke Street West. The male, with his face partially disguised, approached the cashier’s counter and demanded the clerk turn over cigarettes. A quantity of merchandise was turned over to him. The male exited the store on foot.

The police were called. While on route police located a suspicious vehicle with a male inside parked in the St. Catherine School parking lot on Glenforrest Blvd. The male was questioned and police located the stolen cigarettes and the weapon used inside the vehicle. The male was arrested.

As a result of the investigation Derek MacPherson, age 20, of Kennedy Road in Cavan has been charged with one count of Robbery and Disguise With Intent To Commit A Criminal Offence. MacPherson was held in custody and will appear in court on the 30th of June. The estimated value of the robbery is $1100.
 
Mischief - Sherbrooke Street
On the 29th June at approximately 12:07 am, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the south side window of the front of the LCBO store located at 196 Sherbrooke Street. There had been no actual entry and there was nothing taken. The business sustained $800.00 in damage.

Harassment/Breach Probation Arrest
On the 27th June at approximately 9:15 pm, the 7-year-old male victim was playing ball hockey on Westbrook Drive with several friends. The accused, age 50 years approached the group and had a short conversation with the victim.

The victim’s friend was concerned over the extent of the conversation and immediately told a parent. The parent located the accused walking away down the street. The police were called and attended the area.

As a result of the investigation Ian Thompson, age 50, of Rogers Street has been charged with one count of attempt to abduct a person under the age of 14 years and one count of breach of probation by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Thompson was held in custody and appeared in court on the 28th June.
